WHO?

Every United Church congregation, member or adherent is already a member of AVEL through the payment of the Conference assessment.  You have unlimited use of all AVEL videos or DVDs and the service is FREE.  The only cost to the borrower is returning the video. 

AVEL can assist with creative programming ideas and resource selections for any time of the year.  Resources are available for all church groups or individuals to use.

WHAT?

The United Church of Canada's Audio-Visual Educational Library.   VHS and DVD resources are produced or purchased especially for United Church use.  They cover a wide range of topics and issues affecting congregations.  General Council Units place these resources in AVEL to reflect their Mission and for the use of United Church supporters.  AVEL staff is available to answer all your questions, assist with programme ideas and resource selection.

WHEN?

There are selections for Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas seasons.  AVEL staff is available to assist you if you wish to host a workshop.

HOW?

Resources are listed in the AVEL catalogue which is available free from your AVEL outlet.   Simply phone, fax, mail or email AVEL and ask for your specific request.  It will be sent to you by courier the same day.  Use it.  Enjoy it.  Re-address the package and return it for someone else to use.

WHERE

AVEL is a part of Grand River Spiritual and Educational Resources located at Five Oaks Retreat and Education Centre near Paris, on 116 acres of Carolinian Forest at the confluence of Whitemans Cree and the Grand River.   Drop in any time. . . Coffee is always on and the grounds of Five Oaks are a treat at any time of the year.
