8th Fire: It's Time (DVD)
8th Fire: It's Time
Wab Kinew (host of 8th Fire) explains how ancient Wampum belts hold a clue to the future. The Supreme Court of Canada now confirms the promises they hold as the truth. The First Nations of this country were not conquered. They signed treaties to share the land, and this means Aboriginal people must be consulted and accommodated when anyone wants to dig, explore or develop on their land.
Dead in the Water (DVD)
Dead in the Water (DVD)
There's a problem with the world's water supply. One in four people on earth don't have access to clean drinking water. Many governments lack either the resources or the will to provide this essential commodity to their citizens.
In recent years, a number of powerful companies have spotted this crisis and seen a business opportunity. And from the deserts of California to the streets of Soweto, and several thousand other cities and towns throughout the world, often with the involvement of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, they have attempted to privatize what many consider a public trust.
Don't Sit On Your Stuff
Help youth discuss and begin to live out Christian stewardship principles. Ted and Lee, as disciples Peter and Andrew, explore Jesus' parable of the master and his three servants and figure out that they shouldn't "sit on their stuff." Tangled Blue perform their original song, "Gift of Grace", bringing fresh twists of interpretation to two stories of giving and grace - Mary washing Jesus' feet with expensive perfume, and the parable of the widow who gave all of her money at the temple. Also features a youth group's discussion of what happens when giving means reaching out to a member of the group who has cancer.

Affirming Congregations: Three Stories
Creating inclusive communities and embracing diversity, regardless of sexual orientation, is vital to the life and work of Affirm congregations and ministries. Here are three stories of United Church congregations who have made the choice to be Affirming Congregations. One story comes from Saint John, New Brunswick, one from Edmonton, Alberta, and the other comes from Vancouver, British Columbia.
This compelling 3-part DVD tells the stories of three congregations:
-Queen Square Centenary in St. John, NB
-Southminster-Steinhauer in Edmonton, AB
-Trinity in Vancouver, BC
Each took the difficult and courageous steps to become a congregation that openly welcomes gay, lesbian, and transgendered people. And each was changed and revitalized in the process.
